Who we are
PlotExtract (plotextract.com) is a free, browser-based tool for digitising data from chart images. The data controller responsible for this website is contactable at admin@plotextract.com.
What data we collect (and what we don't)
PlotExtract itself collects no personal data. The tool runs entirely in your browser. Any image you open is processed locally on your device and is never uploaded to any server. We have no access to it whatsoever.
We do not operate user accounts, login systems, or contact forms. No information you work with inside the tool is transmitted anywhere.
Third-party services
We use two third-party Google services that may process data about your visit. Both are subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Google Analytics (GA4)
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this site (pages viewed, session duration, approximate country). This data is aggregated; we never see individual identifiers. Analytics cookies and data collection are only activated after you give your consent.
Google AdSense
We display advertisements served by Google AdSense. The AdSense script loads on all pages. Without your consent it operates in non-personalised mode only. No cookies are used for ad targeting and no browsing profile is built. If you consent, Google may use cookies to serve ads personalised to your interests.

Analytics cookies and personalised advertising are only activated after you explicitly accept via the cookie banner. You may withdraw consent at any time using the "manage cookie settings" link above.
Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f))
We save your cookie preference in your browser's localStorage so we do not need to ask you on every visit. This storage contains no personal data and remains on your device only.
Data retention
PlotExtract retains no personal data. Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months by default. Google AdSense retention is governed by Google's own data retention policies.
Your rights under GDPR
As a resident of the European Economic Area you have the right to:
- Access: request a copy of any personal data held about you
- Rectification: ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Erasure: ask us to delete your data
- Restriction: ask us to limit how we process your data
- Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Withdraw consent: at any time, without affecting prior lawful processing
Since PlotExtract itself holds no personal data, requests regarding Analytics or AdSense data should be directed to Google. For any other queries contact admin@plotextract.com.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
International data transfers
Google may transfer data to the United States. Google LLC participates in the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (DPF), which provides an adequate level of protection as recognised by the European Commission.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the bottom of this page reflects the latest revision. We recommend checking this page periodically if you have concerns about how your data is handled.
